Today I head over to the eatery Republic Jengkol. I have never tried eating Jengkol, and by receiving many recommendations where to eat Jengkol I chose this spot to try Jengkol for the first time. I try two variations of Jengkol, I picked black pepper Jengkol and rendang Jengkol. Jengkol is a popular dish served throughout Indonesia and many people love it. It is known to have a strong odor, where it might scare people to eat it. But this exact spot the Jengkol doesn’t have a odor to it, where you can just fully taste the flavor of the Jengkol. After trying this famous dish I got a special treat from the chief which was Jengkol coffee, who would of ever thought you can drink it not just eat it. ;) I had such a fun experience trying Jengkol for the first time and to my surprise l enjoyed everything. I will be back for more delicious Jengkol dishes, I added this dish to my favorite Indonesian culinary foods.
