    MENCOBA MAKANAN INDONESIA

While I am here in Padang I have eaten so much.

You can see my other video I made trying street food here in Padang, Indonesia here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx721cOh1TY

This time I tried the food that Padang is famous for, Nasi Padang. I actually tried Nasi Padang first when I was in Jakarta last month at the famous Rumah Makan Surya. Since I am in Padang, I thought I have to try it here as well. It did not disappoint. I went to RM Lamun Ombak. Nasi Padang is a unique way of eating where you sit at a table and the staff bring over many different plates of food to you. You then choose what you want to eat and only pay for what you eat. This time I tried some curry chicken, Rendang with a type of meat or vegetable I am unsure what it is and some vegetables.

After this I decided to try another famous Indonesia dish and that is Martabak Manis. This is an amazing type of food that can be eaten sweet or savoury. It is sort of like a thick pancake/waffle type thing (but a lot more fulfilling than those) and you can get it filled with almost anything. I had chocolate, cheese and nuts. It also had condensed milk. It was very sweet but really great. For this I went to Martabak Djoeragan.

Lastly I had Ikan Bakar which roughly translates to Barbecued Fish. This was a great experience. I went to Rumah Makan Fuja which is a restaurant near Padang Beach. I would say this has the freshest fish in Padang. You are greeted with the staff who have a box of fresh fish. You get to choose your fish and they throw it straight on the BBQ. It is then cooked and brought straight to your table where you are also given a lot of side dishes to go with it.

If you want a holiday for food or street food then Padang and other places in Indonesia are great options.
