The students cannot see the food cards. It is a listening activity. The purpose of this activity is to use colors to check the students compression for food items. I'm associating colors to food. At this point I'm not asking the children for output. The students are at ease and feel safe because all they have to do is say the color not the food item. If they say the right color then I know they understand what I'm asking.
I'm also not concerned with their knowledge of countable and uncountable nouns. They are making some grammar mistakes, but for the purpose of this video I do not want to interrupt them and break their fluency. (What color is milk? It's white. What color are grapes? They are purple.)
