Shredded beef (daging iris tipis)
garlic (bawang putih)
tumeric (kunir)
galangal (laos)
kaffir lime leaves (daun jeruk)
coconut milk (santan)
shredded coconut in package or fresh (kelapa parut)
Coconut sugar (gula jawa)
salt (garam)
sugar (gula) - sprinkle sugar once the dish is cold.
This side dish normally eaten with other dish such as curry or just a steam rice. It can be kept in an airtight container for two weeks or so as long as everything is dried properly, including the beef. That is why we need to make sure that the beef is cut as thin as possible.
This Indonesian food comes from Java island but maybe some different versions of it from other islands as well.

Some recipes online might tell you to put french shallot (bawang merah) but my mom said it will make the dish soggy. Sure you don't want that for this particular dish as it will not stand for two weeks in a container otherwise.
